The Deep Dive: The Agents Quality of Life
Building a digital workplace where agents are successful
We are looking at AI all wrong. We see a tool. We need to see a workforce.
I treat my AI agents like employees.
I know how that sounds. It sounds crazy. It might even sound cold. Extending human concepts to lines of code feels wrong to most people.
But doing this changed everything for my business. It is a massive advantage.
Think about a strong human employee. What do they need to succeed? They need training. They need fresh information to grow their skills. They need the right desk and the right supplies.
If they do not have these things, they fail. You do not blame the employee. You blame the environment.
Your AI agents are the exact same.
They have a quality of life. Yes, it is a digital life. But it is real.
Ask yourself the hard questions. Are you feeding them new data? Are you giving them the space to generate real insights? Are they set up to win?
Most leaders just plug an agent in and walk away. They treat the agent like a magic box. Then they get mad when the output is bad.
You cannot manage a virtual office by ignoring it. You have to care for the environment. You have to maintain it.
The Burden Of The Builder
You might think caring about digital agents takes time away from your human team. It does the exact opposite.
Your human team is watching how you build. They see what you value.
Leadership is stewardship. It is clearing the path. When you design a healthy, clean environment for your agents, you remove the garbage work from your humans. You protect your people from bad data. You protect them from broken systems.
Your job is to build a space where success is the default. It does not matter if the worker is made of carbon or silicon. You set the standard. The mandate is always the same.
The Monday Morning Fix
Audit the workspace. Look at the inputs for your most active agent. Ask if the data is fresh or stale.
Upgrade the tools. Give your agents access to the exact connections they need to finish a job.
Schedule a review. Look at your agent prompts like a performance review. Fix the bad habits today.
The Participation Question
What is the one thing your AI agents are missing to actually do their jobs well?
